Texans held out for thirteen days against the Centralist army

included the legendary David Crockett and Jim Bowie.

This is San Antonio’s signature Riverwalk where visitors
and locals alike find
popular
restaurants, cafes and shops. This bustling commercial
area
contrasts to the
tranquil setting found along much of the Riverwalk.
These
areas are perfect
for quiet strolling or contemplation.
Several events were held in the new Valencia Hotel
including the awesome winemaker’s luncheon created by
executive chef Jeff
Balfour in their Citrus dining room
and
our
Mariachi Brunch on Acenar’s patio adjacent to the Riverwalk.
Kim McPherson was pouring his Rosé of Syrah
in
the
Becker Vineyard’s tasting room before our luncheon.
We were graced with a superb lunch at the Becker Vineyards
in the Texas
Hill Country. Winemakers included our hosts the Beckers, Kim McPherson of
McPherson Cellars
and
Dianna Novy Lee representing her new Novy Cellars
label as as well as their established Siduri wines of Santa Rosa, California.
Pesca, at the Watermark Hotel, hosted the Tequila Shootout where
we noshed on elegant appetizers while learning about tequila and mescal
and how location and processing create various taste sensations.
A fun path to higher education!
This exquisite dessert was but a small part of the elegant
Black Tie Affair
honoring the cuisine and people
of Oaxaca, Mexico held at the Westin Riverwalk.
Event Chairman, Daniel Jacob, Jr. and Tom Buhl enjoy
the Sunday brunch hosted by Acenar in the Valencia Hotel.
